Birth Place: New Orleans, Louisiana
Height: 5'7"
Competition Weight: 128-130 lbs

BIO:
Mary Elizabeth Lado, with a mother from Cuba and a father from Spain, was born and raised amid a strong Spanish influenced culture. Mary was strongly urged as a child to remain active and to take part on physical activities. There wasn’t much Mary didn’t do as a child; volleyball, basketball, softball and track all made up and took a large part of her time growing up. After high school, Mary received a full ride to Chipola Junior College as a pitcher and then to Georgia Southwestern State University to play volleyball and softball. After graduation, Mary still had a desire to remain active; she began tinkering with weights and with the encouragement of friends and family, she entered her first figure competition in 2003, the New Orleans Figure Championships where she won her class. A mere 1 year later, Mary would go on to win the Figure Nationals, thrusting her head first into the IFBB ranks.
Mary’s pro career started as fast and as successful as everything Mary had done in the past. In her first 3 shows, she would place 3rd in one and win the 2nd 2. But a setback finally hit Mary at this point. While visiting family in Spain, her hometown was hit by Hurricane Katrina. Unable to communicate with the outside world, Mary seriously contemplated dropping out of that years Olympia. She would end up going through with the show, even though she was not at her best. But from then on things only got better, mary would go on to win the Arnold Classic in both 2006 and in 2007 becoming the only figure competitor ever to take the Arnold crown more than once. Jenny Lynn is the only other, with 3 Arnold Classic wins.
