Latisha Wilder grew up in Nashville TN and from a young age excelled in athletics. Latisha would also enjoy a very successful athletic career in college, running in the 100, 200, 400 meter and relay events. At the University of Cleveland. 2 years later she would transfer to Lipscomb University where she found success as a cross-country runner. Latisha has always enjoyed lifting and training, but is wasn’t till college when she caught the attention of one of the strength and conditioning coaches, who inevitably got her more heavily involved in training. Although academics were her primary concern, soon Latisha would change majors form Biomedical Engineering to Exercise Physiology, reflecting her active lifestyle. In 1994 Latisha would meet Sam Wilder, the two began dating and soon attended the Arnold Classic week end. It was here that she realized she wanted to pursue a career in the fitness industry. She began her competitive career shortly thereafter competing in fitness, but soon switched to figure where she was more apt to shine. 5 shows later, Latisha would place 2nd at the 2002 NPC Jr. National Figure Championships earning a pro card. With a good start as a pro, she would run into trouble in 2005 when she contracted a serious gout attack. This caused a lot of problems for Latisha in the following shows, but being the driven athlete she is, she did not give up and still competed in her upcoming shows.
